    clothe yourself with strength!^(B)
Put on your garments of splendor,^(C)
    Jerusalem, the holy city.^(D)
The uncircumcised^(E) and defiled^(F)
    will not enter you again.^(G)

    and clothe yourself in honor and majesty.^(A)

    clothe yourself with strength!^(C)
Awake, as in days gone by,
    as in generations of old.^(D)
Was it not you who cut Rahab^(E) to pieces,
    who pierced that monster^(F) through?

² Shake off your dust;^(A)
    rise up,^(B) sit enthroned, Jerusalem.
Free yourself from the chains on your neck,^(C)
    Daughter Zion,^(D) now a captive.

⁷ For God is the King of all the earth;^(A)
    sing to him a psalm^(B) of praise.
